I really enjoyed reading the book, especially about the corporate and business conditions which made fertile grounds for the deployment of an emissions control “defeat device.” But I will restrict this review to a clarification of the part for which I have first-hand expertise and experience, namely the testing and regulatory side of the story as well as the players involved. This review is from the former EPA engineer, Leo Breton, discussed in Chapter 7 of Jack Ewing’s book “Faster, Higher, Farther”, specifically in the chapter entitled “Enforcers.” ![]()
